Spruce / White Spruce

I am a fast growing evegreen tree with a broad pyramid shape. I have blunt needles which are light grey-green all year. As I get older, I get numerouse small cones. I'm very hardy. I am a good landscape specimen, in parks, shelterbelts, or in mass plantings. (Picea glauca)

Features:

Prized for it's foliage.

Companion Plants:

Juniper, Pine, Periwinkle, Hens and Chicks, Sumac, Englemann Ivy.

Care and Dead Heading:

Water me regularly until well established. I tolerate most soil conditions once I'm established. Feed me in spring with an all purpose fertilizer just before new growth begins. Please prune my broken or damaged limbs.

Planting Instructions:

Dig a hole twice as wide as the container and 1-1/2 the depth. Remove container and gently massage the roots. Place root ball in center of the hole even with ground level. Backfill hole with mixture of 1/2 native soil and 1/2 soil amendment. Compact lightly and water thoroughly, then repeat. Apply 5-10cm (2-4in) layer of organic mulch & create a water basin around plant.
