This colorful perennial produces fragrant, double, hot cherry red blossoms atop a low mound of silvery blue, spiky foliage.
Companion Plants:
Pair with Salvia, Digitalis, Archillea, Iberis, Nepeta, Thymus, Oenothera, Stachys, and Gypsophila.
Care and Dead Heading:
Grows best in full sun to light shade and loose, well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Tolerates dry soil for short periods.
Planting Instructions:
Dig hole twice as wide as the container and 1-1/2 the depth. Remove container and gently massage the roots. Place root ball in center of the hole even with ground level. Backfill hole with mixture of 1/2 native soil and 1/2 soil amendment. Compact lightly and water thoroughly, then repeat. Apply 5-10cm (2-4in) layer of organic mulch & create a water basin around plant.
